Walking for the Healthcare Heroes - Charlotte, NC

Please support me as I'm walking to show my support and raise money for our Healthcare Heroes in Charlotte!  Their tireless efforts have not gone unnoticed during this COVID-19 pandemic and their efforts will be just as important as ever to support our community as it begins to open back up.  Over the course of five days (Thursday 5/28/20 through Monday 6/1/20) , I will walk 107.521 miles (~21.5/day) in honor of the projected 107,521 Americans who will have died by June 1st and the healthcare workers that have cared for them and the hundreds of thousands of others that survived.  (Projection from University of Washington as of 5/26, https://covid19.healthdata.org/united-states-of-america).  All money raised will be donated to Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center Foundation, located in Charlotte, NC.

I was inspired to do this by the #FitForTheFrontline challenge started by Mount Sinai Health System, located in the epicenter of our epidemic in New York. As the Mount Sinai press release states, "As much of the country continues to self-isolate due to the coronavirus pandemic, medical centers across the United States are joining forces to start a country-wide movement of physical activity to honor and support front-line health care workers who have worked tirelessly to save lives. #FitForTheFrontLine is a national fitness challenge beginning Tuesday, May 26 and culminating on Sunday, June 14 (Flag Day). The event encourages Americans young and old to move, exercise, and get fit to increase awareness and raise funds to support our nation’s health care heroes."
