I first visited D.O.G (Dali Organised Group) Rescue Cyprus on a HAO volunteer trip in 2017 and have returned another 5 times to volunteer at the pound, kennels and to help with freedom flights. Every time I visit I see many dogs and always find 1 or 2 that touch my heart and follow their progress in to homes.
I already have 2 dogs and unfortunately not able to adopt or foster so the only thing I can offer apart from money is my time and energy. I have therefore signed up to do sponsored walk on 25th/26th May to raise much needed funds. But this walk is not just any walk, it's the 'London to Brighton 100km challenge'. I once rode it on a sponsored Bike Ride , many moons ago, haha! This is going to be an amazing challenge for me, I am so looking forward it especially walking through the night as it will be a non-stop challenge with rest stops enroute. However, as previously experienced I know that it does present 2 rather big challenges, the North and South Downs. In preparation for this event I will be using an organised Easter walk of 25m (approx 40km) as part of my training plan.
So basically, I'm asking you if you would kindly make a donation to help me on my way and help the dogs at the same time, we will all really appreciate it.
The charity was set up by a group of 5 lovely ladies who volunteer their time to help unwanted, abandoned stray dogs in the Dali area of Cyprus, just south of Nicosia. They receive no government funding and rely totally on fundraising and the good nature of their supporters to help rehome these dogs in the UK and Europe. Both walks organised by Action Challenge so I'm not just randomly wandering the country with a SATNAV. ;-)
