100km in January
Hello! My name is Tia, I am 21 and I will be running/jogging/walking 100 kilometres in January for Bournemouth Blind society. Bournemouth Blind society is an amazing organisation which has personally helped me growing up. The society is a non profit organisation which I am so grateful for and I would love to give back and raise awareness of them.
I have been registered blind all my life, and I have struggled coming to terms with it especially growing up. I never wanted to be seen as different or different from my peers especially at school. Bournemouth blind society gave me opportunities to meet other peers who were also visually impaired, and have helped me become as independent as I am today.
if you want to know more about my eye conditions, I made a youtube video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hG_icWzQ_c0
When I was diagnosed with my eye conditions the doctors said that It was unlikely i'd be able to go to a mainstream school and It would take me longer to develop things such as walking. However I went to a mainstream school and am now a third year psychology student at Winchester university. This Is due to many different aspects of my life, but bournemouth blind society defiantly played a big part.
I will be documenting this on my instagram - https://www.instagram.com/touch_of_tia/
And on my youtube channel - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCyXRz9HXzhWN4e_i0WWhkAA
