100 miles swim through October

Donation protected
Through out October I have decided to take on the challenge of swimming 100 miles, to raise money for MetUpUK
this will involve swimming about 3.5miles a day / 225 lengths a day / 2 hours plus per day constant swimming.

So, why am I doing this? Well, my sister has metastatic breast cancer. Metastatic breast cancer kills 31 women every day in the UK and has a median life expectancy of 3-5 years. It is the biggest killer of women under 50, yet it is hidden, the ‘dirty secret’ of the breast cancer world.

As October is breast cancer awareness month it seemed like the perfect month to do this crazy challenge.

I am raising money for MetUpUK, a group that my sister is involved with. MetUpUK is the UK’s only patient advocacy group campaigning to push and promote the issues that affect people with metastatic (or secondary) breast cancer. All the money raised will go towards helping them achieve their aims of making metastatic breast cancer a chronic, not terminal, illness.

Please dig deep and make a donation to help this brilliant cause. Every penny helps, so every penny is great fully received.

Just a though.
Why not one less pint a week. A cheese sandwich instead of the takeaway one night. Drive for the meal out and don’t get that bottle of wine.
Such a small sacrifice, but the money not spend and donated could have massive impacts on peoples lives.
