Capital MMA & Elite Fitness is teaming up with the Carpenter's Shelter to raise awareness and funds to support homeless families in the Northern Virginia region by rucking 100 miles through DC, Maryland and Virginia.

What is a rucking?  Rucking is walking with a weighted backpack; on July 19 we will begin our 100 Mile Charity Ruck leaving Washington DC and headed towards Lorton Virginia, over the next three days we will hit each state in the DMV!!!

If you like our cause and want to get involved its easy:
1. You can donate here, every little bit helps.
2. You can pledge to walk, ruck or run 25, 50 or 100 miles during the month of July.  With your pledge and donation you will receive a Charity Ruck T-shirt.  Leave your mailing address and shirt size when you donate so that your shirt can be mailed to you.
3. You can become a sponsor by donating $250 (or more) to the charity and get your companies name prominently displayed on the back of the t-shirts, mentioned on all of our press releases and social media posts.

For more details on sponsorship or questions feel free to contact us at charityruck100@gmail.com

More information about Carpenter's Shelter, Inc. (Carpenter's Shelter): Carpenter’s Shelter’s mission is to support the homeless in achieving sustainable independence through shelter, guidance, education, and advocacy. Over the last 30 years, we have evolved from a small group of concerned citizens providing shelter from the cold to an innovative leader in the effort to permanently prevent and end homelessness. We are proud to offer the broadest range of homeless services in the City of Alexandria. Each year, more than 600 men, women, and children increase their housing stability and self-sufficiency with customized, supportive care. To further improve our effectiveness, we have undertaken an ambitious property redevelopment project that will add affordable and permanent supportive housing to our rapidly gentrifying neighborhood.

Capital MMA & Elite Fitness has been a fixture in the Washington DC, Northern Virginia, and Maryland communities since 2001.  Founded by an elementary school teacher who wanted to share the benefits of the world’s most effective martial art with his community, Jeremy Lafreniere turned what was originally a small club into a franchise with 6 locations and over 1,600 students including: children, law enforcement, military, medical professionals, and teachers.  Capital MMA’s mission to provide a friendly fun and safe training environment has since spread beyond the walls of these locations, and now supports many charitable causes. Recently Capital’s efforts  raised over $6,000 for Mission 22, Sponsoring Thanksgiving Day meals for needy families in the Hyattsville Maryland, and countless sponsored memberships for children and adults who regularly benefit from the discipline and confidence obtained by participating in our programs.
