100 festive feasts for families in need by YFMV

We are trying to raise $10,000 to provide families all over Metro Vancouver with a festive feast during the Christmas Holiday. For many families, coming together over a full meal is one of the cherished moments of the day - and the dinner table is the hub of family energy and life. Unfortunately, a lot of families have been robbed of that joy this year during the Covid-19 Pandemic - where survival has meant making do with less or even doing without entirely.

Whilst we have previously done food drives to provide families with two full weeks of groceries, this Holiday season we wanted to focus our efforts on reclaiming the joy of coming together as a family around the dinner table for as many families in our community as possible. We have partnered with Fresh Prep to help in providing and delivering these full meals to the families.

Thank you for reading and we hope you can help us help all 100 families that are already approved, and hopefully, those on the waitlist as well. We have a deadline for this fundraiser, it ends on November 30, 2020 at 11:59 PM. Whatever we raise by the deadline, we will help as many families as we can. 

Young Families of Metro Vancouver (YFMV)

Our Mission: 
To foster community for families with kids ages 12 below so we can reach and help parents in need or struggle with isolation or loneliness.

Who We Are:
We are a community of young families for young families in Metro Vancouver that have kids age 0 to 12 (pregnant moms are included)! Young Families meaning we have young children! Since we are all living roughly the same life phase, we can all empathize and understand each other.

Our goal at YFMV is to foster community amongst families with children 12 years old and younger. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, we knew that we wanted to do something to help those in our community that were affected by job loss, health difficulties, or otherwise had difficulty providing food for their family for pandemic-related reasons. This is an outreach that we run thanks to all our generous donors and volunteers in the community!
