10 000 steps a day for Clyst Caring Friends!

The following charity was a big relief for my family and my Nan and has been and still is for many others. Therefore, I am going to walk

10 000+ steps every day in February in order to give back to them.

Clyst Caring Friends is a charity close to my heart as it provided a place for my Nan to go with the early on set of vascular dementia-this being their day centre run by qualified staff and volunteers.

The Day Centre provides a happy environment for elderly and/or disabled clients to attend to socialise, enjoy activities and support not only them but their families when respite may be greatly needed. This was a real comfort to us as a family knowing Nan was being cared for but also having a lovely time and she thoroughly enjoyed attending here before she had to go into a care home. Also, for many elderly clients this is their only outing opportunity and lessens their isolation. The day centre itself is not funded and therefore any contributions are greatly received.

Clyst Caring Friends provides a number of services to the community of Broadclyst and Pinhoe and has become an invaluable and integral part of the community from providing transport if needed, coffee mornings and the day centre. A charity shop helps fund the day centre.
