'Roll Away Sue' fundraiser for The Marmalade Trust
Let's use a silly song for a sensible cause. Want to buy me a coffee to replace the one Sue stole? Don't worry about it - instead, give the money to The Marmalade Trust, who are reaching out to those affected by loneliness during this pandemic and beyond.
Here's the story:
During lockdown, I decided to record what is quite possibly the silliest song that has ever come out of my brain. Why? To bring people together during a time when we've all been far apart and hopefully make them chuckle.
I invited people at home to send in their contributions to form the 'Lockdown Sue Ensemble' and was overwhelmed with the creative and wacky contributions. We've had videos sent in from all around the globe, one in sign language, cardboard cut-out barrels, numerous costume changes and even a star appearance from a BBC award-winning fiddle player.
I'm chuffed to say I think the song succeeded in its mission. This week (15th - 21st June) is Loneliness Awareness Week, so what better way to celebrate the release of 'Roll Away Sue featuring The Lockdown Sue Ensemble', than to help out those affected by loneliness and could benefit from togetherness. The Marmalade Trust is doing just that, so let's help them!
The money raised here will be paid directly from GoFundMe to The Marmalade Trust.
