EQUESTRIAN ZONE HAS A MATCHING GRANT OF $62,000 from the Arkansas Animal Rescue Foundation and we have until 2017 to raise the matching funds! HELP US MEET THIS GOAL

Equestrian Zone is a non-profit therapy center in Russellville Arkansas that provides equine assisted physical, occupational, and speech therapy treatment strategies to people with disabilities. The children we serve aren't riding to compete for a blue ribbon; they are small, beautiful children who rely on these large majestic horses so that one day they can walk a little straighter, talk a little more clearly, and overall, enjoy life to their fullest potential. These children have come to Equestrian Zone in search of hope. They have often exhausted all other possibilities of therapy or have been discharged due to lack of progress in a typical treatment setting. At Equestrian Zone, we see these children take their first steps, learn to eat solid food for the first time, and say their very first words. These wonderful experiences could not happen without the interaction between these children and horses. It is a magical moment every time the child gets up on that horse who has become his friend and healer. Their disabilities, pain, and suffereing disappear because of the horses. Presently, our budget is covering the basics, but like many non-profits, we want to grow and make our services available on a year round basis, so more funds are needed. One of our biggest needs and the intent of this funding project is to erect a cover for our 100 x 200 square foot arena which will protect the riders, horses, volunteers, and staff from the sun, rain, and inclement weather. The arena cover would also allow us to increase our operational hours and allow us to make more progress in the treatment of these children and to make the most of what the horses and therapy can contribute.
