Bob's battle with multiple myeloma

Donation protected
I married my best friend, Bob 12 years ago. Since then we have been blessed with 4 grand daughter's that bring him the most joy he could have imagined. He never had the opportunity to have children but he picked up grand parenting like no other. Those kids are his life and they love him so. Back in April we decided to build our tiny home on our property next to the home we have lived for the past 11 years in order for my daughter, her husband and 3 of the grand children to have their own home without the interference of everything that comes with 2 families co existing together. Lol side note. ..my daughter had a paralyzing stroke 4 years ago so her family was down to a 1 income family.  It was just too difficult for them so they didn't have a lot of options other than to move in with us.  The kids are getting older and they all needed their own space.  We started to build our tiny little house and we had gotten as far as the framing done when we found out about Bob's cancer. We hurried up and got at least the shell completed and that's as far as we could go financially now knowing we better get prepared for us now living on one income and the extra expenses that comes along with treating multiple myeloma cancer. We have sold everything we can and we're looking at him going to Seattle for an autologous stem cell transplant coming up Dec 30th. This is a transplant of his own bone marrow not a donor. He has gone through the chemo for the last 4 months and now he is cleared to for the transplant. It is a pretty amazing... he went from 90% cancer in his bone marrow, down to less than 1% which is what he needed for the transplant.  . There's no cure for Multiple Myeloma and he has to have the transplant in order to survive.  It will come back if he doesn't get the transplant.  He will have to get chemo maintenance for the rest of his life. He has to stay in Seattle for 75 to 90 days in their housing but it is still very expensive. Yet less than a motel. We have been racking our brains to try to figure out how to pay for all the expenses. The actual transplant, the medical bills,  housing, food, etc and we just don't know. It is very hard to go on here to ask people for money when we have always been the ones doing the helping in the past. We are now out of money, sold everything we can and asking or friends, family and strangers to help. Everything has all happened so fast our heads are spinning. I don't know how to express in words the kind of man my husband is. He has always been very giving and generous to others. He worked for 27 yrs with the same company and anyone there would tell you he is truly a good human being.  He cared for his mother while she was sick, he cared for his father when he too had cancer and he and I cared for his ex wife when she had a terminal brain tumor. He has been through it, that's for sure. I am praying now that he can get the help he needs to get through this.  He is keeping a positive attitude when I feel lost and don't know what to do.  He had been my strength through his cancer!
