Eye to Eye at The Marin School

Tax deductible
We are students at The Marin School, a high school in San Rafael, California.  We have got approval from the school to open a chapter of Eye to Eye, a national mentoring program by and for people with Learning Differences and ADHD.

Eye to Eye chapters match high school students with middle school students and the program offers strategies to build social-emotional, self-esteem, and self-advocacy skills.

The Marin School is a small high school community which provides great support, and which includes many students with LD.  It is the perfect place to support middle schoolers with Eye to Eye and we will partner with Venetia Valley Middle School, a local public school.

I learned about Eye to Eye in 2011. As a middle school mentee, I had a transformative experience with my mentors. I gained the confidence to support myself through self-advocacy.  I felt comfortable sharing that I have a Learning Difference.  Cat encouraged me to start this with her because she is always thinking about helping other people.  My experience at Eye to Eye also inspired me to establish a chapter at my high school.

I became friends with Will about a year ago. He was very passionate about the impact that Eye to Eye can have at the Marin School. We developed the idea of starting a chapter at our school together. I was diagnosed with a learning difference about 10 years ago. I have had an amazing support system and want to help others. Eye to Eye would give me a chance to do so.
