Eye surgery for Razor the puppy

Donation protected

Razor is an adorable GPA Lexington  greyhound puppy from NGA (racing) parents (SE's Charlie - sire, Rico's Huron - dam). Razor was too young to have received tattoos or a racing name at the time he left the farm a couple weeks ago. He retired from the racing world very young due to an accidental eye injury.

Upon initial evaluation, our opthalmologist, Dr. Tolar, determined that he sustained a corneal perforation to his left eye. He is completely blind in that eye, and has now developed secondary glaucoma. This has caused his eye to become swollen, draining, and painful. Dr. Tolar has recommended an enucleation (eye removal) as soon as possible. This will be the best treatment option to restore comfort, and to provide a quality of life to Razor.

This little guy, only 12 weeks old and weighing in at only 18 pounds, is going in for surgery on Tuesday 8/29/2017. The estimated cost for the procedure and follow-up care is nearly $2000. As an all-volunteer, non-profit organization, operating on a shoestring budget, Greyhound Pets of America- Lexington, Kentucky needs your help! Please donate today so Razor can just be a puppy again.....
