Autism Service Dog for SQ

UPDATE: We are going to Georgia K9, Friday to meet our trainers and begin this process.  This will include the entire family and Andrew has even made a count down calendar  until Friday.  Andrew,  our 9 yr old,  is very excited and said " this is going to change  our  lives",  and he is right! 

SQ is a  ten year old boy with Severe Autism.  He has limited verbal communication skills and cannot communicate basic information.  SQ is a runner,  meaning,  once  he decides  he wants to go somewhere he just goes.  He has wandered during the  day and night  clothed  and in the nude.  We are terrified  that he will be hurt or worse.  This has become such a  problem it literally plays into every aspect of our daily lives.  A service dog will help us slow him down and also trail him if he gets away.  We have found a trainer at Georgia K9, www.gak9.com, located in Edisto Beach,  S.C. They train German Shepherd pups once a year and the pups for the year come in on December 13th. In order to begin training,  without waiting another year,  we have to put down the deposit this week.  The overall cost will be between $10,000 - $25,000. We have 6 months to a year to raise the remaining balance.
