Hi Family and Friends.
As you all already know our Uncle Skipper (Mike Asiello Jr.) had fallen at his home in September. The next day he suffered an intense stroke that affected his speech and the mobility of the left side of his body. This plus the injuries that occurred during the fall meant he had to stay in a rehabilitation center to heal and get strong again. Due to his insurance he has had to move rehabilitation centers several times. He was finally settled in at Steuben Health Care in Bath. After months of therapy there is still a long road ahead but we have a home coming date! He will be able to come home for good on December 22nd. MERRY CHRISTMAS!!
With him able to come home, there are adjustments that need to be put in place first. A wheelchair ramp will need to be built onto the outside entrance of the house, a new bed will need to be purchased that raises, as he is not able to lay flat to sleep and the biggest enhancement, a second bathroom is being built to accommodate his physical limitations. To add to the stress is his insurance company, who has battled with them since day 1, has stopped paying for his needs as of December 8th. Uncle Skip and Aunt Viv have had to pay out of pocket for each day he remains there until his discharge, December 22nd. It goes without saying the reputation Uncle Skip has for his dedication and love to his family, friends and community. Aunt Viv will be his caretaker and will need daily strength and support. We also ask if you could keep them all in your prayers. On behalf of our Asiello Family, we thank you whole heartedly in advance for your support.
