Hi,

My name is Austin, and I know that men don't talk about these things as often, but I have been victimized by a very powerful businessman over the period of a year. I didn't know what to do and how to say no, because he held such power over my music career and overtly reminded me of it.

I recognize that many are dealing with their own unique pain and recovery. I thank and applaud them for being role models and for stepping out to throw their monsters into the light of day. You are all heroes.

The point of my message is, selfishly, in the hope that getting it out of my own head and to you and a few industry folks finally, will help me reach some kind of relief/peace of mind in knowing that people know the truth about what was really happening while I was faking smiles, offering hugs and signing fans' autographs. I was terrified for my life.

So, here goes.

In 2008, Kirt Webster, the CEO of the powerful Nashville-based “Webster Public Relations” did terrible, terrible things to me. He sexually assaulted me repeatedly, he drugged and sexually violated me, he offered me publicity opportunities and magazine columns in exchange for sexual acts. He paid me to keep my mouth shut. And he did everything under threat that he’d make sure nobody in the industry ever heard my name again. It took me a year to escape from him and get away to where he couldn’t find me or reach me any longer — although he still continued to harass me via phone and text messages for years -- up until this year, even.

I know this is perhaps an awkward statement for you to read because I don’t feel like a whole human being when I remember some of the explicit events. But, I need people to truly know what actually happened to me down there, during that time.

Most importantly, is that I want to help in any way I can to ensure that no future victim of Kirt's, or of any other monster's, has to go through the year of torment that I did. I want to be a protector, of sorts. I want others who were victimized before me to feel safe and secure in telling their own stories and in receiving the support they need and deserve.

What Kirt Webster is, is Nashville's worst-kept predatory secret. I cannot do this alone, and I would be so very grateful to anyone who can spare some change or a few dollars to support my mission, as well as the #MeToo campaign in honor of victims everywhere. I need your help to remain healthy, headstrong, and effective.

I don't know how soon any of this is going to come to fruition, but I have a sense that it is is going to be soon. I've been contacted by more national and local media than I can count on one hand, and I have no plans of backing off until Kirt Webster and his accomplices are brought to face their crimes.

Your support means the world. Please share and pass along the battle that is likely to come, and I will be sure to keep everyone updated regarding any media coverage and wherever those interested can read about our progress against these monsters.

Yours truly,

Austin Cody Rick

Dear friends and supporters,

It’s been a long time since we’ve spoken, and I want to tell you why that is. On January 11, everything in my world came to a halt. My mom had been feeling ill for the past day, but we thought it was due to a fibromyalgia flare up, as she’s suffered with the disease for years.

The night of the 11th, though, we realized there was something terrible happening to her when she was no longer able to move around much. She was rushed into the emergency room and it was determined she was suffering from appendicitis, and that it would be removed via a routine laparoscopic procedure (minimally invasive camera / suction scope in her side).

When the relatively brief procedure began, surgeons noticed that my mom’s appendix had actually already ruptured during previous days. This was shocking, but the heart-stopping news came hours later, when they told us the reason for the burst: mom had cancer. A malignant tumor had been growing inside her appendix for a long time, and had eventually caused the rupture and begun leaking its contents into other areas of her abdomen.

The primary tumor was removed during the six hour operation, as well as a six-inch section of her intestine where malignancy was also detected. Her cancer is called mucinous adenocarcinoma. It is rare, and often not detected until something traumatic happens as a result of it — like in mom’s circumstance.

Mom remained hospitalized for seventeen days, and we were with her during each and every one. She overcame some setbacks in her digestive tract, and was on a feeding tube for quite a while. As doctors had aborted the laparoscopic approach upon learning of the tumor, mom now sports an incision scar that spans the length of her entire abdomen.

Now that she is home, mom will recuperate for approximately four weeks. She has to be at 100% strength, because she will then begin a six-month chemotherapy treatment program. Her doctors are confident that, upon completion of this treatment, mom will be completely cancer-free.

I am so thankful to all who have stood by my family and I through this very emotional and sometimes terrifying saga. At the beginning, I didn’t know whether my mom would live or die, and this experience has given me a new view of life, both specifically and generally.

My mom’s illness required me to shut down almost every aspect of my activism and pursuits of Kirt Webster and his enablers. I am now slowly turning some of my attention back to my efforts within the country music industry, and against the evils of sexual harassment, abuse, and assault.

Join me and march forward.

Dear supporters and friends,

I want to wish everyone the happiest of new years. I hope you each had a safe and WARM night!

This update is to let you know that, apparently, even #metoo movements come to a screeching halt over the holidays. My attempts at outreach for our cause during that time fell upon deaf ears.

That behind us, we are moving forward.

Watch the national headlines this coming week for more insight into my recent endeavors -- that's all I can say for the time being.

I'm also gearing up to take part in a cable television production regarding the evil Kirt Webster has visited on so many. This won't be a little "blip," per se, but rather a feature.

I may also have new legal news to share with you soon, so please stay tuned.

As many of you have already donated, and are therefore receiving this update, I thank you so much -- especially considering that you did so during the holiday season.

If you wouldn't mind, please like and share this update with as many people as you can, so that they, too, can read my story and decide whether they would like to donate.

Donations are making all the difference right now, as 2018 is upon us and I will need to engage more actively in order to fulfill this mission.

I appreciate and cherish you all.

Yours truly,

Austin

Dear friends,

I'd like you to meet Cody Andersen, a friend of mine and another target of Kirt Webster's. Here is a small portion of his story, as presented by WSMV Channel 4 NBC Nashville:

I am pounding the pavement each day in furtherance of the cause. Your love and support in the form of donations are making it possible. Thank you so very much.

Kirt Webster is finished victimizing people.

Yours truly,

Austin
