CETHUS MANNING II -- “JUSTICE FOR JAY”
My brother, Cethus Jerome “Jay” Manning II, (19) was a loving, kind, respectable young man who had his whole life ahead of him. He was just coming into his life as a man, when it was stolen from him. He was enrolled in a Welding Apprentice Program, doing very well and would have graduated in June of 2017. He was going to school from 5:00 until 9:30 PM, and then working at Fed Ex from 11:00 PM until 3:30 AM, Monday through Friday. “Jay” was a decent child, reared in a loving home and family. He was also raised in the church, a member of the youth choir, and was in a few affiliations in the church and community.
February 21, 2017, at 5:15 AM, will forever be the DARKEST day of our lives, because in the early morning hours, as “Jay” was dropping off his girlfriend (who also worked at Fed Ex), after they were sitting in the car talking, and he was about to leave someone walked up; fired shots at the car hitting my brother and killing him…he was only 19 years old. “Jay” was loved by so many. Anyone who knew him knows that he had the kindest heart, a beautiful smile that lit up a room and was the most loving, kind, respectable young man.
“Jay” wasn’t a menace to society; he was a respectable and decent young man, coming home from work when someone took his life. He was just coming into his life as a man, when it was stolen from him. He was my only brother, and my family has forever been changed. There is now a tremendous void that is our present and our future due to Jay's tragic departure from this earthly life. We have a hole in our hearts that will never go away.  Some days the heartache and pain is just unbearable.
We want everyone to know how special “Jay” was and to know how appreciated a donation of any amount would be. We pray every day, that God will bring JUSTICE FOR JAY. The funds will assist his family with the costs that they will acquire as they seek justice on Jay’s behalf. The family would like to post a reward for information to help reveal the murderers of this wonderful young man. “Jay” had his whole life ahead of him and would have been a great asset to society. If God puts it in your heart to donate, please know that all is appreciated and words can not express how much it means and matters.
Other ways to help the family include prayers (a lot of them) and even sharing this link so that it may reach far and wide. Thank you so much and may God bless you all!** If you have any questions regarding the fund, or would like to send words of encouragement you may forward them through GoFundMe.
I thank you in advance for your time and consideration in this matter.
