Expeditions for Epilepsy

**Unlike some other GoFundMe's, these funds will be going DIRECTLY to the Epilepsy Foundation of Virginia, as all of my travels and Ramen Noodles are already paid for.**
Friends and family, for those of you that know me, you know I'm an active guy. This summer, in trying to raise awareness for epilepsy, I am going to be participating in a series of races and expeditions with different groups of friends around the United States (my body permitting). We will run, bike, swim, paddle, climb, mountaineer, hike, and rappel our way around the United States through different triathlons, adventure races, and mountaineering expeditions. We will race in the MonticelloMan olympic triathlon, climb Mt. Rainier (2 routes if the weather allows), climb the Flatirons, and many more adventures.
As I thought about this trip, I thought, why not reach and out and see if we can also raise money to go towards the Epilepsy Foundation of Virginia (EFV). The Epilepsy Foundation of Virginia is a leader in the fight to overcome the challenges of living with epilepsy and to accelerate research on therapies to stop seizures, find cures, and save lives.
Epilepsy is a condition that can cause people to have uncontrollable seizures that can cause them to lose control of their body. This not only affects you in a profound way because of the loss of voluntary control, but also it makes tasks like driving and even exercising frustratingly difficult. Roughly 1% of people will have epilepsy at any one time, and 3% will get it sometime in their life. There are currently around 9 million Americans living with one form or another of epilepsy. As you can imagine, living with epilepsy can be frustrating and scary, and for that I am asking for your help! Please consider supporting the Epilepsy Foundation of Virignia by donating (all the money goes straight to them, I don't see it!). I would greatly appreciate it, and I know many others would too!
