Expansion of Fruit Life
My mission is to circulate healthy options in communities that are out of reach. Day to day, sun up and sun down, I sell fruit. I was inspired by someone I worked under (who sells fruit). I too wanted to put a healthy option on the table for the community while sustaining a lifestyle of my own.
When I started Fruit Life in Third Ward, Houston, I said to myself, "Opening a storefront for fresh fruit to come and stay for years is a plan." My vision is to create a storefront, also having stands outside of supermarkets. A place where Fruit Lovers can get an in/out healthy fast food experience, while also having the option to relax, enjoy and live the Fruit Life!
I'm asking for your help to expand Fruit Life. Not only to be established in Third Ward, but other communities around Houston as well. Please support.Thank you in advance!
After looking for proper permits for my business, I was told by the health department as long as I have a tent and create my art on the site I will need a temporary permit. For street vendors like myself, the price a day is $78. The price for 21 days is $700 and out of my financial reach.
I plan to switch to a more hot dog stand kind of style. With a hot dog cart set up, the price for permits would be $216 a year. I am now asking for you to help me obtain a stand that will be able to pass the Houston Health officers test. Average cart cost between $1500 and $3000. After I have my first location I will continue to expand and elevate FRUIT LIFE for HOUSTON to have access to fresh fruit daily.
