Sleepy Hollow H.S. Parent Advisory Council's Laptop Scholarship Fund
It's that time of year again when students are choosing their colleges and have now begun their search and application process for college scholarship opportunities. The Sleepy Hollow High School Laptop Scholarship is among the many "Near and dear to her heart," say's Sleepy Hollow's Principal Carol Conklin-Spillane. Begun many years ago and then carried on by the many groups of dedicated SHHS PTSA parents, the newly formed SHHS PAC (Parents Advisory Council) hopes to continue this scholarship tradition with your generous help!
Previous scholarship winners are extremely grateful for their awards.
"The laptop scholarship helped eliminate a big financial burden for me and my family and helped me to not have to make that difficult decision between buying books or a laptop to assist with my college studies," says Jason Martinez a SHHS 2013 graduate who is currently a sports management major in his junior year at SUNY Cortland.
"The laptop scholarship has allowed me to get my work done, make connections and continue to achieve all my academic goals. It was a true blessing to have had earned that award. Without it , it would have been a real struggle to get a good quality laptop to use while attending college. I'm very appreciative and thankful for that award," says Steven Bencosme also a SHHS 2013 graduate who is currently a psychology major in his junior year at Ithaca College.
Sleepy Hollow High School's Bonnie Berry sums it up best by explaining "You can feel the gratitude and appreciation in the hugs when these kids accept their awards."
Once again this year we are soliciting donations to help fund this wonderful scholarship fund. We hope that the Tarrytown/Sleepy Hollow school community, local community and our SHHS alumni family can come together to help us in this endeavor. Any donation amount is greatly appreciated!
