Let’s get EWS to MIDWEST!
The Eastern Wind Symphony is honored to announce that it has been accepted to perform at the 69th Annual Midwest International Band & Orchestra Clinic, to be held in Chicago, IL from December 16-19, 2015. EWS is the first adult band from New Jersey ever to be invited to perform at this prestigious conference. EWS needs your help to bring our members to Chicago this December!
Why GOFUNDME?
The EWS is a non-profit organization, and all members volunteer their time and talents. We need your help to make this opportunity to perform at the Midwest Clinic possible. Your contribution will help us to procure guest soloists and conductors, allow us to commission a new piece of music by a prominent wind ensemble composer and purchase additional music, help us fund rehearsal locations to prepare for the Midwest performance, and help offset travel costs for all of our volunteer musicians. All contributions are fully tax deductible, as the EWS is a 501(c)3 organization. We also welcome company sponsorships, either through this GOFUNDME campaign or by contacting us directly to discuss opportunities.
What is Midwest?
The Midwest Clinic is the world’s largest conference for instrumental music educators, drawing attendees from all 50 states and 30 countries. The EWS was selected through a rigorous audition process, and is the first adult band from NJ to be invited to perform. Performing at Midwest is a lifelong goal for many EWS music educator members. This opportunity will provide the EWS exposure to conductors and composers, as well as educational opportunities, which will continue to raise the quality of performances for our home audiences in future seasons.
What is the EWS?
The Eastern Wind Symphony is a professional caliber ensemble located the tri-state NY/NJ/PA area, and based out of Princeton, NJ. The ensemble is dedicated to performing the very best wind and percussion literature. EWS membership includes music educators and freelance musicians, as well as members manage who businesses, work in the sciences, and raise families. Whatever their vocation, all members of The Eastern Wind Symphony are accomplished and talented musicians who volunteer their time and enjoy performing the most highly regarded wind symphony repertoire in a high-caliber ensemble. Their reward is musical enjoyment at its highest level: music for music’s sake!
