Evynn and Casey's teddy bear drive

I told my little kids I wanted them to come up with an organization to give a charitable donation to this holiday season, and after discussing a lot of ideas with them, they decided they wanted to donate teddy bears (or other stuffed animals) to our local fire department / paramedics.

The short version of the back story about why they chose this… When the ambulance took Mark from our house for the second time, he never returned home again.  The kids were overwhelmed by all the “action” in our house as several paramedics worked on Mark.  But one of the very nice paramedics distracted the kids by attending to them and giving them a stuffed animal and some stickers while Mark was being transported out of our house.  That was not only comforting to them, but also to me, so that I did not have to worry as much about taking care of my kids while all of this was happening.

So I asked Casey how many stuffed animals he wanted to donate, and he said, “At least 22.” (haha! What a random number!)  And Evynn said “At least 40.”  Either way, their piggy banks don’t have enough to buy that many.  So I told them I’d try to raise some funds to help them… I put just a $100 goal on this… but the more raised, the better… they can just buy as many as the raised funds will allow them.

So please consider donating a few bucks to help them out.  It will be really nice for them to be able to present our local fire department with a whole bunch of stuffed animals to use to comfort other little girls and boys in similar situations.

Thank you in advance from Evynn and Casey!
