Mr. Bronson is my 77-year-old neighbor. His family has lived in the neighborhood for his entire life.
He lives alone on a fixed income and is the only sibling of three brothers still living. He recently received notice that the home his mother left to him will be listed for tax foreclosure. He has family but they don’t have very much contact and Mr. Bronson needs help. He is surviving on social security but is starting to develop medical issues and is already struggling to keep up with medical bills. He tried signing up for Medicaid, but they will not cover him unless he sales the home he grew up in. He was also recently in a car accident that has left his car totaled. Since he couldn’t afford an attorney fight on his behalf, he lost the claim and is now immobile.
Despite his medical issues, he wakes up every day, goes out into his driveway, and tries to fix his car himself. Our driveways are located on a small side street that he cleans and maintains the community areas at his own will without any expectation for money. He assists other families on the street with their yards who can’t afford it and he watches out for everyone like a hawk if there seems to be anything suspicious happening in our area.
We’d like to help Mr. Bronson raise $35,000 to pay off his taxes, pay off his medical bills, and purchase a reliable vehicle so he can travel back and forth to the doctor. He is very determined to better his situation regarding his home, his car and most importantly his health, but with limited mobility, declining health and a fixed income, he just can’t seem to make ends meet.
