Every kid eats, Palm Beach!

As I watch my son make himself a PB&J, I can't help but to be thankful. Every day I pack my boys lunches and fill them with tons of their favorite things! My oldest loves when I cut his PB&J's into a heart shape. It's a reminder of my love. Which brings me to why I started this Go fund me page. Did you know that palm beach county currently has more than 20k dollars in school lunch debt? That amount involves more than 9k kids. Elementary lunches cost around $2.05 and Secondary are about $2.30. Could imagine if you couldn't afford $2 so your child could eat? It gets worse... reduced lunches are $0.40 and some parents cannot even afford that. Did you know after 3 consecutive lunches put on tab, a child will be given a "substitute" meal. They will be denied snacks. School is tough enough, let alone the cruelty that some have to endure because they are stigmatized as "poor". For some, this is the only meal they will eat. For others, it may be held against them as an "obligatory debt". It's at the discretion of each principle if this debt will hold them back ... from let's say graduating! Could you imagine? Not only could you not afford your child's lunch, but now they will be held back and unable to graduate because of it. I believe everyone's heart swells with different tragedies. If your moved to help with starvation in Haiti or Cuba, if your moved to save animals or if your moved to save our planet ... it's all the same to me as long as your spreading love. For me, the innocence of children and the pain that some have to endure is too much. They are the future! Every kid deserves to eat without wondering if or when they will eat again.
