UPAF'S GIVE $10 - TELL 10 PEOPLE

The World Champion Voices of Unity Youth Choir will embark on a truly special European performance and competition tour in July 2016 that will enrich the lives of our young leaders and bring great distinction to the Fort Wayne area.
Choir members have been invited to perform at the Vatican as part of an international choir festival (Musica Eterna Roma) and compete against other choirs from around the world. The choir will also perform in Venice, Italy; Vienna and Graz, Austria; and at the Grand Prix of Choral Music (Laurea Mundi Budapest) in Budapest, Hungary.
Choir members will also present workshops on soulful choral music in Rome and Budapest.
The tour will be a challenging undertaking and we have kicked off a fundraising campaign to defray some of the expenses for the roughly 100 choir members and support personnel who will be making the trip. The money raised will go toward air and ground travel, lodging, some meals and production expenses. On their own, choir members have been asked to raise 50 percent of their costs.
The Voices of Unity Youth Choir is something we can all be proud of. The choir won gold medals and were named Grand Champions in one of their categories at the World Choir Games in China in 2010; gold medals at the games in 2012 in Cincinnati, Ohio; and gold and silver medals at the games in Riga, Latvia in 2014.
The choir is part of Fort Wayne-based Unity Performing Arts Foundation, a multi-faceted, multi-cultural nonprofit performing arts organization launched in 2000. Our focus is empowering and developing young people (ages 7 through college) in the areas of character, artistry and leadership. Unity also focuses on promoting the soulful art forms through education, training and entertainment.
During the European tour in 2016, the diverse choir will represent the greater Fort Wayne area as a progressive region and help drive the talent development, attraction, and retention efforts that are critical to sustained economic growth. The tour will also enhance the Fort Wayne area’s sense of pride, not only because the choir was invited to such a prestigious series of opportunities, but because Voices of Unity participants possess an uncommonly high degree of talent and character and serve as stellar ambassadors for the city.
It is our hope that you will help raise money for the European tour by participating in the "GIVE $10 - TELL 10" campaign. The concept is simple: You give $10 and encourage 10 other people to also donate.
By joining the journey through giving, you will be helping ensure our community’s future leaders are fortified with an inclusive, global perspective that will help our region compete both economically and through critical international relationship building.
The choir has proven it is one of the best in the world. But this journey is more than just about music. It is about solidifying a bright future – for all of us. And with your donation, you will have played a big part in that effort.

UNITY EXISTS TO:
1. Provide a unique and excellent platform that educates and exposes youth and adults to the rich heritage and culture of the soulful art forms.
2. Empower young people by equipping them with the necessary tools to be successfully competitive in a fast moving society.
3. Inspire true diversity in the artistic community in the audience and on the stage.
4. Present unique and quality entertainment for the entire family.
