Evan is a proud soldier in the Army National Guard for over 3 years now. On Novemeber 12th Evan went for a run with his Platoon during his drill weekend. Two miles into the run Evan collapsed due to a cardiac arrest. The doctors initially thought it was due to a virus that went to his heart. After further testing it is concluded that it is a heart defect. The fast and quick response of the men and women he was running with saved his life! CPR was administered 35+ minutes by Sgt. Dutton and Spc. Vogts . EMS had to shock Evan four times upon their arrival because his heart was in vfib. They transported him to Freeman Neosho hospital to stabilze him, after a very short time he went to Freeman Hospital in Joplin. He was brought directly to ICU.
Evan has three jobs to support his family of 4 (soon to be five). His fiancé, Jessica is able to stay home so she can take care of their 2 year old daughter, Janaya and 11 month old son, Jack. Jessica is due to have another baby January fourth or sooner.
