Service Dog Fundraiser

Hi! My name is Casey. I am 18 years old and raising money for a service dog. I suffer from severe Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Depression, and Colonic Dysmotility. I have suffered from anxiety and OCD for over 10 years and in the past few years have developed depression. I have been attending therapy (specifically Cognitive and Exposure Response Therapy) and meeting with psychiatrists for many years. I tend to react abnormally to medications, so most of the common ones my brain can not tolerate. My family and I have been researching many different therapeutic ways to help me live my life instead of constantly being disabled by my illnesses.

My life is significantly effected by my disabilities. I commonly miss social activities, family commitments, and volunteer shifts. I even missed half of my junior year and almost all of my senior year of high school. I have had panic attacks at a lot of locations such as concerts, school events, stadiums, and even common outings.

My service dog will be trained to do Deep Pressure Therapy to help calm me down during panic/anxiety attacks, Tactile Grounding to help me ground myself when I get caught up in my obsessive thoughts, disrupting compulsions, Boundary Control in busy places where I might get overwhelmed, and Medical Alert to help warn me before I start to have a panic/anxiety attack. I am currently 11th on the waitlist for an Angel Retriever. Angel Retrievers is an organization partnered with Little Angels Service Dogs.
