The Europe Camogie teams are seeking your support to help bring them to this year's World Games which will be held in Waterford from the 29th July- 2nd August 2019.
This is the second time Europe will enter a camogie team to the world games. Only this time we are bringing a non Irish, as well as an Irish team. There will be teams competing from every corner of the world including North America, New York, Canada, England and Australia.
The Europe squad and management team consists of players from seven different clubs under the European County Board: Belgium, Berlin, Setanta Berlin, Den Haag, Eindhoven, Hamburg, Holland Gaels, Basel, Darmstadt and Dresden.
Our camogie championship in Europe this year is being played over five rounds in Vienna, Brussels, Amsterdam, Copenhagen and Dresden. We fund our travel to all of these events out of our own pockets for the love of the game. For the World Games, the players chosen to represent Europe are seeking your financial support by way of this quick crowdfunding campaign.
All of the money raised will be used to help players pay their expenses which will include flight costs, transportation of gear, accommodation and food.
Those of us selected to represent Europe in camogie at this competition are thrilled with the opportunity. It has not been an easy couple of years for the sport on the continent due to falling numbers but we are a group of dedicated players determined to keep the sport going to provide both Irish emigrants with an opportunity to play a sport they love, and women and girls from all over the world a chance to discover this amazing game.
