Después de haber ganado el campeonato Europa C en 2015, la Selección Española de Rugby League ascendió al europeo B en 2018.
El campeonato consiste en dos partidos contra Rusia y Serbia siendo el primer paso en clasificación para el mundial de 2021.
La mayoría de los gastos recae sobre la Asociación y los propios jugadores con un montante total de 5000€ sólo el viaje a Serbia.
Todos los jugadores y miembros del cuerpo técnico son aficionados y no reciben nada por jugar. Hay jugadores de toda España además de Francia e Inglaterra que tienen que cubrir sus propios gastos de viaje e incluso perder días de trabajo para representar a su país.
El día 6 de octubre, la selección se enfrentará a Rusia en Oliva (Valencia) y tendrán gastos de dieta, desplazamiento además del alojamiento del equipo rival (según normativa de la federación europea).
Después, el día 19, viajarán a Belgrado para jugar frente la selección Serbia el día 20. En esta ocasión tendrán que costearse los gastos del viaje además de algunos gastos de dieta.
Having won the Euro C championship in 2015, the Spanish National Rugby League Team have been promoted to the Euro B competition for the 2018 season.
The championship consists of matches against Russia and Serbia and will be the first step on the road to the 2021 World Cup.
The majority of the expenses for these matches falls upon the Association and the players themselves with the flights to Serbia alone costing in the region of €5000. All of the players and the coaching staff are amateur and receive nothing to play. There are players from across Spain as well as France and England who have to cover their own expenses and even miss work in order to represent their country.
On October 6th, the national team takes on the Russians in Oliva (Valencia) and will have meal and travel costs, as well as having accommodation expenses for the visiting team (as per European federation guidelines).
Then, on the 19th the team will travel to Belgrade to take on Serbia on the 20th. This time they will have travel expenses to cover along with some meal costs.
