My name is Andrew and my goal is to raise $15,000.00 to purchase a piece of adaptive technology that will greatly improve my quality of life. I was born with Lebers Congenital Amaurosis (LCA) which has left me legally blind since birth. I am 26 years old and I have always struggled with my vision. Losing more and more vision each year I know that one day I will be completely blind. For the last 6 years I have had the privilege of working with my Seeing Eye Dog Benson who I could not live without. He helps me everyday to get around in my day to day activities while being a constant companion I can trust and rely on. One thing that he can't help me with however is how well I see. Luckily I have found a potential solution to this. It is called eSight Eyewear. If I am able to raise the funds it would be used to purchase these electronic glasses. In a demo that I recently attended I was able to improve my visual acuity from 20/600 to 20/40. This was a drastic change for me because not only was I able to complete the eye tests (which I have never done in my life!) but also saw my wife and son in great detail for the first time.  These glasses would give me the ability to be more independent in my day to day life and allow me to explore things I didn't think I would be able to do because of my limitations.
