There is a need to make a difference in the world, and we believe the right education is the seed to make these shifts. Escuelita Finca Mia  is one of those extraordinary global gardens, supporting the changes that will make a difference in the world; consciously planting seeds to create a brighter future.
Our Waldorf school is nestled in the foothills of the Cerro Chirripo Reserve, a nature reserve protecting over 125,000 acres of pristine rainforest. We were established in 2015 and built upon the dreams of a few local families. 

At Escuelita Finca Mia all children are valued as unique and growing members of our vibrant community. Our central purpose is to educate through practical, creative, artistic and social focuses, which allows us to develop a lifelong love of learning in every child.
Our children are expanding their capacity for learning in an environment that enriches their inner human wisdom, so they can be the leaders this world needs to shift into a new paradigm.
With open hearts, we ask that you join our extended family in aiding the expansion of Escuelita Finca Mia and help us continue with initiatives of the Waldorf school movement and urgent needs arising in the next phase of our development and founding stages.

As one of the very few Waldorf schools in Costa Rica, we are in the process of becoming fully accredited by the Costa Rican government as we grow from being a preschool to also include elementary school grades.

We are also sponsoring the training and certification of two of our Costa Rican teachers in this educational artistry.

Currently, we employ 2 local community teachers who provide a Waldorf inspired preschool education to 8 children, ranging in ages from 4-6. 
Over the years, we have been able to grow and maintain momentum because of the generosity of an amazing local and global community that has always supported us and continues to do so. Finca Mia Retreat Center has donated the land upon which the pre-school exists and has  funded all construction of the pre school and  first-grade classroom.  Our local and international community  support  many fund-raisers  we host throughout the year in order to aid with costs of salaries and supplies. 

But now, we are phased with highly costly legal fees in order to keep Escuelita Finca Mia open and obtain our accreditation by the Costa Rican government and be able to continue cultivating values of compassion, kindness, and respect to the next generation. 
TO CONTINUE TO MAKING AN IMPACT WE NEED YOUR HELP: 

The families whose children attend Escuelita Finca Mia are leading a revolution in Love and Connection. In order to continue with the Escuelita's mission in the next phase of expansion, and stay true to to our vision of the school,  provide quality education and sponsorship to Tico children in our area and support employment and development of local Costa Rican educators,  WE NEED YOUR HELP. 

By obtaining the legal accreditation necessary based on Costa Rican law, we will open to the first grade in 2020. In addition, we can continue to provide ongoing Waldorf Teacher Trainings and mentorships.
OUR MAIN FOCUS OF GROWTH IS:

        1.  Acquire all permits and accreditation by the government as an official school, including the legal fees necessary to do so ($8000)

       2. Continue funding the local children and those who normally wouldn’t be able to afford tuition through sponsorship

       3. Continue to create employment, teacher training and mentorships  for local educators: ($3500)
(Properly supporting our teachers so they don’t come and go, they are the pillars of the school by offering continued sponsorship to Waldorf training)

        4.  Expand to include an elementary school, including the classroom supplies and furniture for the 1st grade ($1500)

To help with all this,  WE NEEED TO RAISE $13,000.
