Erika Strong

October 2, 2017 was a day that changed the life of Erika Jones and her family. Erika was found slumped over in her car. Erika had a seizure and once transported to the hospital, they found out she had a meningioma tumor squeezing the brain and spinal cord, that had been growing a minimum of 10 years without any symptoms. Erika had her first surgery on October 5th, and six additional surgeries since and another surgery scheduled for January 12. Erika's frontal lobe has been damaged effecting her emotions, personality, speech, smell, taste and movement. She has no movement on the right side of her body. She has a long road to recovery. Erika is currently a patient at the Shepherd Center in Atlanta, Ga. Plans are being made for Erika to be released on February 1st. Erika will be in a wheelchair, so the family is in great need of a van, and their home will need major changes to allow wheelchair access, they will need to obtain personal hygiene items for Erika that insurance does not pay for and so much more.
