Help Stinky Fight Cancer.
Multiple myeloma is a cancer that originates in the bone marrow but has many different side effects. One of the side effects is bleeding in the backs of the eyes. Because of this, Stinky's retinas have been effected and then he got secondary glaucoma. He's completely blind in his left eye but can still see in his right. He is comfortable and happy now, but every time they go to the opthalmologist, it's anywhere between $70-$200. He was even on an eye drop at one point that cost $120! Every time he goes to the oncologist it's between $100-$300 dollars and 14 pills of his chemo drug is $160!
So, please donate if you can. Every little bit helps. Thank you very much.
Stankins went to the oncologist yesterday and they have two options: if the chemo he's on now can keep his globulins where they're at, then he can stay on that for good. If not (which it's not looking like that will happen because his globulins are slowly rising again) then they can try a different chemo, which he'll have to go to specialty center for, and is $400 each time! And they may have to go once a week at first. So here's to hoping that those globulins stay put!
But in the mean time Stankins is doing great and is really happy.
After increasing Stinky's chemo for 2 weeks, his blood work results that came back today have greatly improved. Thanks everyone for the donations, as his chemo drug is crazy expensive.
Stinky had his Halloween pictures taken today and I was lucky enough to see a preview. They're absolutely amazing. I'll post it on here once Stinky's mom posts it on Halloween.
Lauren, Stinky's owner, just wanted me to tell everyone that she is humbled and overwhelmed by everyone's generosity. She wanted me to thank all of you for your support and let you all know that Stinky is happy and hanging in there.
