Over the past two years, the GoFundMe community has come together to raise more than $500,000 to erase school lunch debt. Community members have started these campaigns to pay off the accounts of children whose families couldn’t afford them. Some of these children would experience “lunch shaming” when in debt, where they’d be given cold food or even made to wear bracelets that would set them apart from other students.

As of 1/8/19, Everett School District lunch debt is $9,419.61 for the entire district.  The amount changes daily but it usually hovers between $8000-10,000. Kids’ balance carry over with them from year to year.

Our THREE daughters, ages 15, 9, 6 all attend Everett School District and we would love to help a local entity by using our platform on social media and through our race company/running group events (Run 2 Be Fit and PNW Ladies Running Group).
