As you all know, Felipe has been battling Biphasic Synovial Sarcoma over the last four years. Now on his third go-around, the Estrelas are hoping to expand his treatment options beyond what is currently available in Boston. They have been advised that right now, their best shot is to go to MD Anderson in Houston with the goal of finding Felipe a clinical trial.
Next month, Felipe and Julia (and Elena) will spend a week in Texas while Felipe registers and begins the screening process. They are confident that this is the necessary course of action, though it will come with more travel and medical expenses, and more time away from work. Furthermore, whether Felipe immediately matches with a trial or continues on with his current chemo regimen, his medical expenses and related costs will be ongoing for the foreseeable future.
We’d like to lessen the financial burden for the Estrelas. All of the funds raised here will go toward helping alleviate that load so they can concentrate on Felipe’s treatments, not the costs associated with it
