Fund for Eoin

Gary Sloan has been a stalwart of the Irish underground music scene for as long as I can remember, and I was horrified to hear the very sad news about the medical diagnosis his young son, Eoin has received. I was already taking part in the Great Ireland Run 10k and thought it right to try and raise something to help his family. Given it was only two days before the event, I expected to raise a couple of hundred, which would have brilliant. However, an astonishing €3,500 was raised by the Sunday night. Fair play to you all.

Seeing as people are still keen to donate after the race, I've retitled it as simply the 'Fund for Eoin', and will leave it going.

Eoin was diagnosed with MLD (Metachromatic Leukodystrophy) in October 2016. Prior to this Eoin was a very active little boy who loved running, climbing and playing. Following this devastating diagnosis Eoins condition has deteriorated rapidly and Eoin relies on a wheelchair and requires full assistance for all his needs. This life limiting condition unfortunately is incurable and Eoin will need us more and more as time passes.
It has been the hardest and most soul destroying news for all of us and we know that as MLD progresses it will rob our son of his speech, sight and hearing.
Please help us by raising funds to help us ensure that Eoin can have his care needs met and allow us to have time with him to enjoy each precious moment
