Enid's New Wheelchair

It gives me great personal joy to introduce to you my favourite neighbour here in Stratford. Some of you may well know Enid, having seen her celebrating our beautiful River, our magical concerts, and our nourishing wildlife. This sweet river maiden depends upon her wheelchair to embrace fully all of the unique opportunities Stratford provides.
Enid gifts all of those she meets with her unending optimism, her perseverance in all circumstances, her model of living in the moment, and her example of embracing this little utopia, our home, Stratford on the Avon.
She can be trusted day in and day out, rain or shine, hot or cold, to share her magical smile and her radiating model of inspiration to be grateful for the numerous blessings we take for granted.
Just last week, when our temperature was a severe -14°, I was popping in for a little visit. But, I found the treads of her wheelchair and soon came to recognize that she was out in the winter wonderland. It takes a great deal to stop her from partaking in her ‘drug of choice’, her neighbourhood River and all its glories.
Currently, Enid is in the position of needing a new wheelchair. Our government will fund a large portion, but she personally, is responsible for the remaining amount.
Her current wheelchair, like most, is designed to function within a nursing home. Her daily demands on this vehicle, far exceed any designer’s functional criteria. Enid’s adventures cover many miles, many weather conditions, and certainly many different terrains.
We, in the neighbourhood, look forward to seeing her in her new wheelchair as soon as possible. We thank you in advance, for anything you can contribute to provide a safer, stronger and more reliable new wheelchair, a 2020 reality for this very special neighbour, our own river maiden.
