Engutoto E.Childhood (New Facility)

Our program mission is to offer our young people the best foundation for a hopeful future starting with the preschoolers. Engutoto Centre provides a quality basic pre-primary school education to any child ages 2- 6. We stress the joy of learning. Our goal is that every child will enter primary school eager and ready to learn.

To achieve our mission of serving Engutoto's preschool population, we need proper facilities. Our goal is to construct a 13 room Centre on 3 acres of land already acquired. This would house all of our current students with some room to expand to serve 150+ students. The building would include classrooms, kitchen & lunchroom, nap room, community gathering space, teachers' offices, storage, bathrooms, and play areas.

This Centre would also include furniture both for children and adults, all needed equipment, supplies, teaching and learning materials. Planning would be based on convenient use for children e.g. blackboards at preschool height.



Outside facilities would include play areas and a water tower. For safety, it will be a fenced in gated area supervised by a staff guard.

Our students need to learn flexibility early. They live with the reality that each day their classroom on the verandah needs to be set up and taken down at day's end. 55% of our students study without a dependable roof over their heads. All children deserve the dependability of a roof as they start their education. Our mission is to ensure they get that roof and all that goes with it!

With this facility in our community, Engutoto Centre can concentrate on offering our preschoolers the best foundation for education and their future. These children can be the ones to break poverty's hold and become the leaders of Tanzania's future. Please help us give them the chance.
