Solar Car Team Durango Colorado

We are a group of high school students from Animas High School in Durango Colorado. Animas High School's previous team, Energy Audacity, made a solar car and competed with it. We have since inherited the solar car and it needs upgrades, renovating, and building upon. Now our new team is working on reviving the solar car from its current state in hopes to compete in the 2019 Solar Car Challange. The Solar Car Challange this year is a race at texas motor speedway. The race starts on July 12 and ends July 18. Through working on this solar car, we are learning about metalworking, electrical engineering among many other skills. While this is all well and good speculating and dreaming about racing doesn't buy the materials to bring into existence a completed working solar car.
