Medical bills

So, as some of you know I had an extensive hip surgery earlier this year.  I had my hip broken and reconstructed, my femur broken to place a rod to turn it outwards, and a bunch of metal added for looks (kidding, to hold it all together).  All of this was necessary as I had a practically nonexistent hip socket which caused my femur to rotate onwards and over time cause a tear in the cartilage in the socket. While this sounds very fun and interesting, it caused me a lot of pain for several years until we figured out the root cause. Without this surgery I was told within about ten years I wouldn’t be able to walk, and in the meantime would be in considerable pain so I opted for the surgery and months long recovery. 

It was a couple  months of mostly bed rest and wheelchair sitting when I could handle the movement, followed by months of physical therapy and hard work. During all of this, as well as a few month before (to minimize damage and pain) I have been out of work. I applied for hardship with the hospital, basically a grant to cover some of the bill, which I found out today was denied.

My parents have been so gracious to have helped with the bills for specialists leading up to finding the cause, gone to many appointments with me, paid the down payment to ensure the surgery, and took care of me the entire part of recovery that I was unable to be on my own plus some. But now the hospital needs the remaining payment since my grant had been denied. 

I am am applying to jobs constantly, I am doing all I can to find one so I can help pay it myself but the job market is not so kind to someone who still cannot sit/stand long periods of time and can’t carry significant weight far at all. 

This is is where you come in! I am making this gofundme to try and scrape together the funds to pay off this hospital bill and any other outstanding hospital bills. Anything helps, truly it would be a blessing to be able to take this burden off of my parents especially during the holidays. I could never thank them enough for everything they have done, and are doing, to help me through this so I can get my life back on track and hopefully be more mobile as well as self sufficient when fully recovered than ever before. They have done so much for me and this is my best chance at giving back!
