Empowering Emily's Fight

Donation protected
January 17, 2020: Our sweet daughter, sister, Mom, Grandma and friend, Emily Brown, was diagnosed a little less than three years ago with breast cancer.  She fought hard through this and came out a survivor.  She was cancer free for approximately 4 months, when she noticed numbness and headaches.  These issues worsened and the doctors did a screening and found that she had developed a tumor in her spine at the base of her skull.

The treatment plan was radiation, which she completed.  She has stayed nothing but positive through this entire 3 year battle.  Unfortunately, we received some devastating news on January 16th.  The radiation did not work and the tumor had, in fact, grown.  The doctor's made the hard call to end her treatment and start her on comfort care for the remaining time she is with us.  They have estimated the time she has left will be between 1 week and 4-months depending on the tumor's growth.

To say we are all shocked and our emotions are a roller coaster is an understatement.  Emily along with her family would like nothing more than to allow her to spend her remaining time here on earth in the comfort of her own home.  To do this, requires 24-7 care.  Hospice will be coming 3 times per week for a few hours.  The family will also be sitting with Emily, but to give the family some respite, they will be hiring a private health care aid.  As some of you may know, this is very expensive.

Many of you have already contributed to the health care costs and it has gone a long way.  The family thanks everyone who has donated and has given their time and love and prayers to Emily and her family.  We ask again that if you are able to donate to help with costs of ongoing care, it would be greatly appreciated.

Our entire family is praying for her and trying hard to keep her positive. I ask that if you are unable to donate, please keep her and her family in your prayers.

Thank you in advance, your generosity means so much to my sister and her entire family!
