WE NEED YOUR HELP:
Today an overwhelming number of people with disabilities are living a life of despair. The basics of everyday life are still out of reach for too many people with disabilities in India--getting a job, using transportation, getting an education, and living independently.

Human barriers in addition to physical limitations make obtaining a good education a dream for many students with disabilities in rural towns. Many give up trying after they complete elementary school because there are too many obstacles to accessibility and consistent transportation.

EquallyAble wants to place 10 meritorious students with disabilities in residential schools which will provide them with room and board as well as a quality education. This allows students to focus on their academic goals instead of worrying about getting to and from school.

When students with disabilities obtain an education, they unlock the potential to become professionals and leaders. As leaders, they can promote the inclusion of people with disabilities in the developing world. 


THE CAMPAIGN:
We are raising $30,000 so that 10 students with disabilities can attend the prestigious Hyderabad Institute of Excellence (HIE) in Hyderabad, India. 

$3,000 pays for one year of tuition at HIE which includes room, board, transportation, counseling, extra-curricular activities, and miscellaneous fees. This program endeavors to fund each student’s cost of Intermediate Year 1 education. We need to raise these funds by the end of 2016.

The philosophy of the Hyderabad Institute of Excellence is instrumental to their success in developing the future leaders of India. The aim of HIE is to provide a teaching and learning environment that enables students to:

·     Understand, internalize and apply the concepts of varied subject areas
·    Stand tall and be able to think, generate creative solutions and be able to discuss and justify his ideas
·   Attain fluency in communication, soft-skills and get leadership qualities
·    Be prepared to aim for admission to excellent higher education programmes
·    Have a healthy mind and body
·    Be instructed, mentored, and guided by faculty who will help them achieve their dreams
