Empower Over Pity Campaign

Donation protected

Hello!

My name is Ulrika Lorenz and I am the Founder of Do Good Now Global.

A non-profit organisation that together with our international network, not only empowers girls and women victimised from human trafficking and sexual exploitation but EMPOWERS them through our GLOBAL “EMPOWER-over-PITY” Campaign.

I am a super-privileged woman with health and wealth living in Sweden with my four children and family. I am a successful entrepreneur and support my family. And twice a year I trek to Nepal to my non-profit centre that empowers girls and women who've been victimised through human trafficking and sexual exploitation.

I don't do this out of pity because pity doesn’t help. Real solutions do.

The girls and women I support are strong and resilient, and survivors.
They don’t need my empathy.
They need to finally catch a break.

How can they do this?
Well, my idea with the girls and women is to build a Bed and Breakfast and Retreat House as well as a second Transit Home that will ensure that the girls learn how to sustain themselves without relying on donations and pity*. Hundreds of tourists flock to Nepal trekking and exploring the glorious mountains and what better home-away-from-home than to stay in the DO GOOD NOW GLOBAL B&B. Not only do you receive incredible warmth and accommodation but you empower the girls and women who've been victimised to learn how to run a B&B and earn money that will support not only their dreams of education but also empowering their human development by learning about micro-and macro-financing and building their community up through education and ridding the population from poverty one step at a time.

Real solutions. Not Pity.

*(the first pilot project is in Nepal and then moving internationally).

And we need your help to finance the costs for building the Bed and Breakfast and Retreat House.

100% of all private donations go directly to building the new centre for girls who have been saved from sexual exploitation and domestic violence.

Our family lives in Stockholm, Sweden, between frequent sojourns to live and contribute to other countries. I have a solid history of philanthropy and have been on-site to rebuild villages after the Tsunami in Thailand as well as initiating a micro-financing effort in Costa Rica.

Do Good Now was founded in 2006. Our effort is two-folded, one very now and very concrete, the other very long-term and compelling. Do Good Now sponsors a transit home in Kathmandu in cooperation with ABC Nepal. The home provides safe housing, therapy and education to 27 young women (child) victims. The foundation through our private  financing is currently purchasing a second plot of land, with plans to modify the model to more sustainable practice (for example, growing and selling herbs) to move away from the dependance on donations.

Do Good Now raises awareness through a variety of events, and is now expanding into publications and media including film and TV. I wake up early each morning to document a unique story of human sex trafficking and its demand, with plans for a book to be finished by 2020. One critical step for Do Good Now is to move beyond private donation to secure corporate social responsibility (CSR) investment from mid- and large-size companies.

We need to stop the demand for human trafficking. Now.
