eM’Power House

eM’Power House is our dream that provides a community for those those following an acquired brain injury. Brain injury clubhouses (like eM’Power House) are based on an international model and are intentionally organized where people are given the opportunity to rejoin their community, in a world of friendship and family, restoring the importance of work/employment and education that they need following the devastation of a brain injury. There is nothing like this program or any other established brain injury clubhouses in the state of Iowa currently.

My coworkers and I (a group of speech and occupational therapists who work with brain injury survivors every day and are specialized in the area of brain injury) are passionately trying to pursue this dream of bringing this clubhouse to the Quad Cities in partnership with local businesses as well as other charitable organizations, and we hope to make this dream a reality very soon. 

However, we are in need of help your help! To bring this dream to life, we need to attend a training in South Carolina led by the International Brain Injury Clubhouse Alliance. This training will assist us in establishing our non-profit status and provide us with the necessary information critical to forming a successful clubhouse. This training as well as travel expenses is costly for 6 people, the suggested number of attendees. 

We would greatly appreciate any help that we can get in making this a reality. The training is in late August, so time is of the essence! We are also open to taking donations in the form of travel points, frequent flier miles, and/or hotel loyalty points.
