Employed homeless man needs help

$4,050 of $5,000 goal

This image was taken Sunday morning after the temperature had dropped to a low of 13. It was posted on a local board with the caption “how would you like to live like this?” The person that posted then made comments about how he had a “nice bike”, a cellphone, and “ate well” so there was no need to feel sorry for him. The comments began to flood from concerned citizens wanting to help and the post was soon deleted. As I sat in my heated home, I couldn’t get this image out of my head. I couldn’t help but wonder who this was and how heartbreaking it is to live alone behind a dumpster in the freezing cold. After doing some digging, I learned who this person is and where he works, which is a local fast food restaurant. No one at his work knew of his situation and that he was homeless. He told them that he lived in a hotel because he was too prideful to ask for help. I am working with his coworkers to get him this money. I have also been told that he is the sweetest man and is not on any drugs, he just fell on to some hard times. It’s so easy to make assumptions and judge someone without knowing their story. This man works and is not asking for any handouts, but I want to help this guy get back on his feet. Please help if you can, any small amount may change his whole world. Also, say a prayer for him and please share his story!

I met this man tonight at his work to get the funds transferred over. He was completely “flabbergasted”(his words) at the generosity of complete strangers. He was sincerely grateful and thanked me with tears in his eyes. He assured me that he will use this money for several months rent and it is the biggest blessing that he never saw coming. His manager, who is a wonderful person, has been helping him through this situation and helped set him up with his own bank account. She paid for him to stay an entire week at a hotel and is also working to help find him an apartment. Thank you again to everyone who donated, prayed, and shared his story! This fund is now set up to his bank account so you can still donate and any further donations will be sent to him directly. I am overwhelmed from the love and support from my friends and the community and thank you all from the bottom of my heart.
