Emmett's Medical Support

As most of my FB friends know, Emmett is my 14 week old chow chow/german shepherd pup. Being a college student struggling with mental illnesses, not only is he the light of my life, but he is my emotional support animal.
On Saturday 1/28, I rushed Emmett to a vet here in Huntington, with symptoms of lethargia, vomiting, and diarrhea. Despite the first few vaccinations, he was diagnosed with parvo. With a 50/50 chance of survival, my parents decided hospitalization would give him a better chance. With each morning and nightly update, my hope was getting smaller and smaller. I asked my parents to drive here from our hometown of Lewisburg, WV to be here for support. On Tuesday, with my pup looking me in the eyes, they told me there was nothing else they were willing to do except euthanization.
Something about mother's instinct, I knew it wasn't right and so did my mom. She promptly got on the phone with our family vet and asked Dr. Julie Gibson if she was willing to try. My parent's rushed Emmett back to my hometown, where they continued to work with their heart and souls to save my baby.
As on today, Saturday 2/4, a week later, Emmett is no longer on an IV catheter. He is drinking water on his own, and showing more signs of alertness. He will continue to be hospitalized until he will eat, but I have so much faith and hope and love in my heart that he WILL make it.
The reason I'm making this GoFundMe fundraiser is for my parents.. The costs of the vet in Huntington were over $1,450 (hospitaliztion, tests, ivs, antibiotics, etc.), and to be quite frank, I can't even imagine how much the vet bill will be for the continued treatment he's gotten at the Frankford Veterinary Hospital. My parents love Emmett as much as I do, but I know they are truely doing this because they know how much he means to me.. Between paying for my college, their living expenses, and helping me with my bills, I know we can not financially afford this.
