Levine Family Fund #EmmaStrong

In August 2016, beautiful ten-year-old Emma Levine was diagnosed with a rare sarcoma on her kidney. Shortly after diagnosis, Emma underwent surgery to remove her kidney at Maria Fareri Children's Hospital of Westchester, NY. Instead of joining her classmates in moving up to her new middle school for her 6th grade year, Emma spent her time in and out of the hospital, enduring months of chemotherapy and radiation treatments. She did it all with a positive attitude and the strength of a warrior. 

Emma was happily in remission for 9 months, until a routine scan revealed that her rare sarcoma cancer had metastasized to her lungs. This devastating news has been an awful blow to Emma and the rest of the family. It has been decided that Emma will begin a new round of treatment in January 2018. 

As many of you are aware, Emma's parents are both remarried and there are two separate families who are directly affected, emotionally as well as financially, by this crisis. With the crippling out-of-pocket costs of medical care, Kevin Levine and his family are truly struggling to cover their other expenses. Wondering how bills are going to get paid this month and the next should not be on her dad's and stepmom's radar at the same time they are trying to hold each other upright each day and maintain a sense of normalcy for their other two young children. 

Thus, this fund that was originally created in August 2016 is now re-circulating. The Levine family is incredibly grateful and humbled beyond words for the outpouring of love, prayers, and generous donations that have been made thus far. But help is still needed to lessen the huge financial strain. Please consider donating - $1, $5 - no amount is too small - and pass along to your friends and family.
