Help pay for trauma therapy

Donation protected

Hello. :)

I'm currently unable to work full time and am trying to continue paying for my private psychotherapy with a trauma specialist. Most of you who find this page will probably know me through my mental health youtube channel or advocacy work, and will know some of my story. For those who don't, here's a little background:

I'm 28 years old. I have Complex-PTSD and Clinical Depression, as well as some dissociative issues which are not yet diagnosed. My Complex-PTSD is (mostly) due to childhood trauma, which I attempted to suppress (this lead to physical illness) until my symptoms became too severe and I ended up suicidal around 2 and a half years ago now - this is when I reached out for help.

I am paying to see a private therapist as the NHS offered me no appropiate support, despite me trying for two years. I am grateful that my therapist offers me sessions at half her usual price, however this is still much more than my partner and I can afford right now despite her working 70hr weeks.

I have worked during my recovery up until the past month. However recovery from trauma often has significant relapses which is what I'm experiencing right now and why I'm unable to continue working. I wish I could, but right now it's not possible - I am completely house bound other than when I see my therapist once a week at her house. Every penny you can spare will go towards therapy costs and anything extra would go towards other medical fees (for my physical symptoms) or living costs during this time. We are in the process of trying to get disability financial support, however we've been told it can take up to 6 months if I even get it and even then will likely not cover my therapy fees, let alone anything else. We already have loans, credit cards and overdrafts maxed out and have recently cut out any uneccessary bills yet still have (literally) hundreds to magic up every month. I don't know how else we will get by other than the kindness of strangers right now (although i am attempting to set up an etsy account, so if you have one and can help me with that, that would be so helpful as i'd much prefer to make the money myself than simply take charity.) I am already losing my voice again (I lost it for two years in the past, due to stopping my physical therapy) and the financial stress is making this relapse a lot harder to fight.

When I am able, I spend my time raising awareness for mental health through my youtube channel, writing articles for charities, and sharing my own story. I want to get better so I can continue doing this and much more to help reduce the stigma of mental health issues and show those struggling that they aren't alone.

My mental health channel is here if you wish to know more. www.youtube.com/channel/UCw-BXEPVcJq7jj68d2uVGCw

Myself and my partner are endlessly grateful for any help during this time. I promise I will do my best to repay it by continuing to raise awareness and sharing my story.

if you would rather support me directly as gofundme does take a 10% profit from every donation, I have a PayPal connected to [email redacted].uk.
