At the age of 30 I suffered with chronic pain and was 30lbs overweight. From there I began a journey into yoga and ayurveda that has literally changed my life. Today, I teach yoga classes, cook ayurvedically-inspired meals, lead an active lifestyle, and have community support. I want to give these gifts to others. To aid others to find freedom and health in their bodies through lifestyle changes.
To do this, I am enrolled in the California College of Ayurveda which has the highest academic and clinical standards in the west. The school also exceeds guidelines for the National Ayurvedic Medical Association.
Breakdown of costs of the the 1300 hour progam:
Full year Clinical Ayurvedic Specialist Program: $12,000 (with books and travel $14,000)
First payment: $6,000 is due August 15th: GOAL REACHED!!!
Second payment due October 2018: $6,000 (Ayurvedic Health Counselor Internship)
I hope to raise money for tuition, books, and travel to the school while simultaneously giving back to those who support and invest in me. Ayurveda promotes active community involvement, eating local, fresh food and building up the constitution of the individual to promote the them as a whole. The two main guiding principles of Ayurveda are the mind and the body are completely connected and nothing has more power to heal and transform the body than the mind.
I teach aspects of Ayurveda in my yoga classes, but I intend to continue to work during my education and offer workshops at the yoga studios I currently teach at to encourage community education. Once I have completed my education I intend to offer 1-hour individual sessions to those who contribute $50 or more to this campaign. Long term, I want to work with small groups in the community where we support each other to cook ayurvedically-inspired meals and lead active, satifying lifestyles.
The Breakdown:
If 140 people invest $100 Ayurveda here I come!
If 200 people throw down $70 let the education begin!
If 280 people give $50 we'll unlock the ancient secrets of the Himalayas!
If 400 people donate $35 I'm in!
