ABOUT MY MOVE: After 7 great years in Boston, I'm relocating to Los Angeles! I've lived my whole life on the East Coast (New York, Hartford, Boston) so I'm really excited to take this huge leap.
I moved to Boston in 2010 to get my Master's and since stayed here to launch my career as a freelancer as a baroque cellist. I've made my living through gigs and concerts, teaching private lessons, and also through my YouTube channel and recording projects. Other than YouTube and recordings, I will be leaving all my work behind in Boston and starting over in LA. It means I'm essentially moving to a new city unemployed—very scary, but a reality for most freelancers who rely on local work.
Anything you contribute here will go directly to me and my living and moving expenses to help ease the transition. Your donation will support me as I continue to create content for YouTube, plan new recordings and projects, and find new ways to reach people with classical music. Essentially, your donation helps me focus on what I do best instead of scrambling to find anything that can bring in money.
I'll be driving from Boston to Los Angeles with my cello and cat Daisy in tow. I'll be filming and vlogging the adventure for my YouTube channel. But moving is expensive! I'll be paying for hotels for a week along the drive, gas, shipping all my belongings (including my modern cello and a guitar), and securing an apartment when I get there. Your donation will help with these expenses.
Even if I raise no money, I have spent months saving and planning for this move and I am prepared to do it without additional assistance. This fundraiser isn't meant to be a charity or a desperate plea, but instead a place for fans and friends to contribute and help if they wish. Update 5/2: I found out that my car needs over $2000 of repairs before my cross-country drive. Though I had budgeted for some maintenance before I left, I never expected to need all this work done and it's definitely a huge setback. Donations graciously accepted to help with these costs.
