National Youth Music Theatre
Don protégé
Hi, my name is Emily Huxter and I'm a 20 year old actor-musician. I've auditioned and been selected to perform with the National Youth Music Theatre this August, in the new musical Legend Trippers!
The NYMT is a self-supporting charity so members are asked to launch a fundraising campaign to contribute £1800 to the costs of accomodation, rehearsal space and the theatre. At weekends I work up to 30 hours to pay for my current full-time training in musical theatre - hence the need extra funds for this fantastic opportunity!
NYMT alumni include the likes of Jude Law, Sheridan Smith and Idris Elba, and every year the organisation auditions thousands of young people up and down the UK. I feel so incredible grateful to have made it through auditions and recalls, and I'm going to do everything in my power to make sure I get the money together so I'm able to go to the rehearsals, put in the work and be there, up on stage, fulfilling what has seemed to be a far-off dream for such a long time.
This chance to work in a nationally respected company (last year they performed to Andrew Lloyd Webber himself!) is an opportunity that doesn't come along often, so any contributions would mean the world to me! Performances are at the Other Palace in London on 14th-17th August 2019. A deposit of £500 is required within a week and I simply don't have the means to pay it. Even the smallest donation is hugely respected, it all adds up! Thank you!
